I'm Jake, a software engineer in Belfast with five years of building products end to end. I take on freelance work with startups and small teams who want to move quickly and use new tools well.

- From a marketing site to a full product. Front end, back end, and the infrastructure in between, built so the next engineer can pick it up without a handover call.
- Mobile apps
- iOS and Android, cross-platform when it's the right call and native when it matters. App Store submission included; that's where most first launches stall.
- AI features
- Language-model integrations, agents, and internal tooling that do something measurable. I'll tell you when a plain database query does the job better.

Invoicing and cash-flow tool for a seed-stage startup. Took it from a Figma prototype to a production app with payments, roles, and exports.
Live in eight weeks. First paying customers within the month.

Cross-platform app for engineers on site, working offline and syncing when back in signal. Job sheets, photos, signatures, and a back-office web view.
Replaced paper for a 40-person team. Both stores, one codebase.

Language-model assistant that drafts replies from a company's help docs and past tickets, with a human approving every send.

How I work.
- You talk to me. No account manager, no hand-offs. I write the code, I join the standup, I answer the message.
- Weeks, not quarters. Scope something real, ship it, then decide what's next with actual users in front of us.
- Curious, not credulous. I like new tech and I use it. I'll also tell you when the boring option is the better one.
- Remote by default. Based in Belfast, on UK time, and happy to travel for kick-offs when it helps.
